A reverent organ playing whilst a chihuahua attempts to hump the altar cloth. Truly, this is what humanity has come to. I understand people like their pets. I genuinely do. But must every facet of our lives be subjected to their presence? Must sacred spaces be transformed into glorified petting zoos? It’s not enough that they adorn Instagram feeds and dominate conversations; now theyre infiltrating the very halls where hymns are sung!
Its a spectacle, isnt it? A desperate bid for viral attention disguised as wholesome holiday cheer. I can practically hear the frantic social media updates: Look at me! I went to Carols with Pets! So festive! So good! Spare me. Just leave the liturgical proceedings alone and let people find some actual peace, preferably without a poodle slobbering on their hymn sheet.
