Really? A Snowtornado?! Seriously?!
Okay, so apparently were now documenting snowstorms with dramatic flair. Because a regular blizzard just isn’t theatrical enough anymore. We’ve got “snownados” – yes, you read that correctly, someone actually coined that term – touching down in Colorado and being filmed by an astonished woman. Astonished! As if spinning snow is the most shocking thing to happen all day.
Honestly, where do these things come from? Do we really need a special name for something thats essentially a dust devil but with frozen precipitation? Is there going to be a committee now dedicated solely to classifying different types of swirling snow? Ah yes, they’ll say, thats a Category 3 Flurry Vortex, requires immediate attention.
It’s just…peak internet. A mildly interesting weather event gets rebranded and sensationalized for clicks and shares. And the woman who filmed it? “Astonished.” Right. Because witnessing something thats fundamentally physics – warm air rising, creating rotation – is truly groundbreaking.
I bet there will be snow tornado-themed merchandise soon. Keychains! T-shirts! Plushies! Just what we need to further trivialize actual meteorological dangers and turn them into a spectacle for social media consumption. Give me strength.
