Really? Dogs on a Frozen Lake?! Seriously?!
Lets just pause for a moment, shall we? Firefighters. Rescuing dogs. From a frozen lake. Because apparently, that’s how we spend taxpayer dollars now? I mean, I get it, animals are cute and fluffy and tug at the heartstrings. But honestly, whose brilliant idea was it to let two canines roam free onto a body of ice in Montana? Were they wearing tiny little life vests? Did they have miniature GPS trackers so their owners could easily locate them when inevitably – inevitably – they decided to frolic and then promptly fall through?
I bet you anything these were those ridiculously pampered pooches, the ones with custom sweaters and organic dog biscuits. They probably thought the ice was a giant, frozen playground. News flash, Fido: its water! Cold, unpleasant water! And now we have brave firefighters, risking hypothermia (because I’m sure they weren’t wearing wetsuits), wading into icy depths to retrieve these furry little escape artists.
And the owners? Don’t even get me started. Probably snapping photos for Instagram while their pets are shivering and traumatized. Its just…remarkable. Truly remarkable, how much energy we devote to rescuing creatures who demonstrably lack the common sense to stay on dry land. I need a nap.
