A Tree Huggers Triumph? Seriously?

Right, let’s discuss this latest feat of… dedication? Apparently, a Kenyan environmental activist decided the best way to champion conservation was to essentially become a human tree ornament for 72 hours. Seventy-two! Thats longer than some people spend on their entire college degree. And what did she accomplish? She clung to bark. Riveting stuff.

I mean, I appreciate passion. Truly, I do. But is this really the most effective use of time and energy? Shouldn’t we be, you know, lobbying governments? Planting actual trees? Educating communities? Instead, we get a photo op – a very prolonged, incredibly uncomfortable photo op – that mostly serves to highlight how dedicated she is to… hugging.

Dont misunderstand: I’m not against trees. Trees are wonderful. But this whole spectacle feels like performance art gone wildly off the rails. It’s virtue signaling taken to a ludicrous extreme. And I bet there was some serious Instagram content generated from it too, because that’s always the unspoken motivator behind these things, isnt it?

I wonder how much she ate during those three days. Did someone sneak her sandwiches? Were they sustainably sourced, of course? One can only imagine. Meanwhile, real environmental issues are quietly crumbling in the background, begging for actual solutions.
