The Universe Rewards Stupidity, Naturally
Seriously? A man in Ohio wins a lottery jackpot because he messed up buying his ticket? Is this some kind of cosmic joke? I mean, bless his heart, I guess. But honestly, it just perfectly encapsulates everything thats wrong with the world. We spend years meticulously planning, strategizing, striving for excellence, and what does diligence get us? Absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, Mr. I-accidentally-picked-the-wrong-numbers gets a quarter of a million dollars and ten bucks extra. Fantastic!
It’s not even a particularly interesting story, is it? Its just… predictable. The universe apparently has a deep and abiding love for rewarding incompetence. I bet he felt clever, too, didn’t he? Probably regaling his friends with tales of his lucky mistake. Please. It’s the lottery! A game designed to prey on hope and desperation, now further validated by this ridiculous anecdote.
And whats with the extra ten dollars? Is that supposed to be some kind of consolation prize for actually playing correctly in a previous life? Because thats all it feels like. I’m off to intentionally misplace my keys, hoping the universe will shower me with unexpected riches. Dont expect a thank you note.
