Seriously? A Person and a Dog on a Frozen River?!
Let’s just pause for a moment, shall we? I need to process this news: firefighters had to rescue a person and their dog from a frozen river in Ontario. Are you kidding me? Really? This is what our emergency services are doing now? While the world burns – metaphorically, mostly – someone thought it was a brilliant idea to frolic on ice that’s demonstrably frozen?
I mean, I get it. Cute doggo needs exercise. But strolling casually onto a potentially unstable expanse of water? Thats not adorable; thats profoundly baffling. Did they not consider… anything? Basic common sense seems to be a rapidly dwindling resource these days.
And the firefighters! Bless their hearts. They’re out there, risking their necks because someone decided playing ice hockey with Fido was a good plan. I bet the rescue cost taxpayers a pretty penny too. Money that could have been spent on, I dont know, preventing people from doing ridiculously stupid things?
I’m not saying we need to outlaw frozen rivers (though honestly…). But maybe, just maybe, we should invest in some public service announcements: “Frozen Rivers are Frozen. Do Not Walk On Them.” It can’t be that complicated. Honestly, the level of sheer… audacity… is astonishing. I need a nap.
