Behold, Mechanical Genius (Because Apparently We Need It)
Right, lets talk about robots solving Rubik’s Cubes. Because apparently, humanity has reached peak achievement and our most pressing concern is whether a collection of gears and wires can twirl plastic squares faster than I can eat a sandwich. Seriously? A robot solved it in 45.3 seconds? Groundbreaking stuff, folks! Prepare to be amazed!
I mean, what else are we supposed to do with our time now that machines are surpassing us at simple pattern recognition? Abandon all hope of creativity? Just sit back and applaud the whirring superiority of engineered precision while our own skills atrophy into uselessness? Fantastic.
Don’t get me wrong, engineering is neat. I suppose. But lets not pretend this isnt a distraction from, you know, actual problems. World hunger? Climate change? The sheer absurdity of avocado toast costing $15? No, no, we need to celebrate a glorified toy with algorithms.
And the brothers! British brothers, naturally. Because who else is going to brag about their robot’s speed in a delightfully understated way? Its all so…perfectly curated. So utterly pointless in the grand scheme of things. Im sure they’re lovely lads, but frankly, my brain hurts just thinking about the hours spent optimizing for…a slightly faster cube-solving time.
