Seriously? A Dog and a River? Really?
Let’s just pause for a moment, shall we? Because apparently, the most pressing issue facing humanity right now is extracting a soggy golden retriever from a Canadian river. I mean, honestly! We have wars raging, economies teetering, and climate change actively trying to boil us all alive, but this makes headlines? A dog. In water. It’s practically a miracle it wasnt rescued by trained otters.
And the firefighters! Brave, noble… rescuing a dog. I bet they were just thrilled about diverting their resources from, you know, actual fires and structural collapses to retrieve a pampered pooch who probably wandered off chasing squirrels in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, dogs are lovely. But are we truly prioritizing their aquatic adventures over, say, ensuring vulnerable populations have access to clean water?
The news report gushed about the “heroic” rescue and how the dog is “safe and sound.” Safe and sound because a bunch of well-meaning individuals risked potential injury to fish out a canine who probably just wanted a refreshing dip. Im sure the dog is very grateful, but my patience with the world’s priorities has reached a new low.
Next thing you know, we’ll be celebrating squirrels being rescued from bird feeders. Just…seriously?
