Okay, fine. Lets all gather around and weep with joy over this utterly predictable feel-good story. An Ohio woman found her dog after a decade. Ten years! Do you realize how much has changed in ten years? I’ve had three different cars, two jobs, and a significant existential crisis or seven. And this is what the news wants to focus on? A fluffy, probably well-fed canine wandering around for a decade and then popping up like a misplaced sock under the couch?
Honestly, the sheer improbability of it all is almost insulting. Where was this dog? Living large in a secret canine paradise? Getting pampered by woodland creatures who knit him tiny sweaters? The details are vague, naturally. Because what we really need to know is how heartwarming this story is for the woman. As if she’s earned some sort of medal for…what exactly? Waiting patiently while her dog presumably developed an impressive skill set in dumpster diving and ignoring human commands?
Im sure it’s a lovely reunion, I suppose. But lets be real: we all know these stories are designed to distract us from the actual problems facing the world.
