Seriously? Otters and Snow Days?!
Right, because we needed this. In a world riddled with genuine crises – economic instability, political turmoil, the continued existence of Crocs – what’s dominating our news feeds? Otters. Rolling. Sliding. Romping. Through snow. At an aquarium. At 7 AM. Apparently, some security cameras deemed this spectacle worthy of documentation and dissemination to the masses. Because, you know, we all just had to witness these furry little freeloaders having a delightful time while the rest of us are shoveling our driveways or staring bleakly at bills.
Honestly, I’m not even mad about the otters themselves. Theyre probably quite charming in their oblivious joy. It’s the performative delight surrounding their antics that grates on my nerves. The aquarium, bless its heart, felt compelled to describe what they were doing. Rolling, sliding and romping! As if we couldn’t deduce this ourselves from a grainy security camera feed!
This is exactly whats wrong with the internet: an endless supply of utterly trivial content designed to distract us from anything remotely meaningful. We are drowning in images of animals engaging in perfectly normal animal behavior, all packaged up and presented as heartwarming news. I’m sure the otters are having a lovely time. I just wish my tax dollars werent indirectly funding this fluffy, snow-covered distraction.
