Right, lets just have a moment, shall we? Apparently, someone – an unidentified someone, naturally – has scooped up £181 million in the EuroMillions lottery. The third largest prize ever! How utterly thrilling. I’m practically vibrating with excitement for them. Truly.
Because what could be better than the news that another anonymous individual is now swimming in more money than most nations can dream of? Its just…inspiring, isn’t it? Especially considering the rampant inequality and economic anxieties plaguing pretty much everyone else. Absolutely fantastic optics all around.
And unidentified? Of course! Because anonymity is essential when you suddenly inherit enough wealth to solve global poverty – or at least buy a small island nation. We wouldn’t want them, perish the thought, having to deal with pesky things like… accountability. Or charity.
I’m sure theyll put it all to good use, won’t they? Probably invest in even more yachts and further insulate themselves from the realities faced by ordinary people. Because that’s what responsible jackpot winners do. It’s practically written in the lottery rulebook.
