Seriously? A Pennsylvania man? Of all the people on this planet, deserving of a windfall—scientists curing diseases, artists creating beauty, philanthropists easing suffering—it’s a Pennsylvania man on an unplanned detour? Because that makes perfect sense. Absolutely logical.
Apparently, he just felt like popping into Maryland while already driving across the state and decided to buy a lottery ticket. Not meticulously planned, not saving for years, not even particularly ambitious, just…a whim. And boom, $50,000. You know, enough to maybe upgrade his minivan’s questionable sound system or finally replace those faded bumper stickers.
Im sure the universe is absolutely thrilled with itself right now. Look what I did! I rewarded random spontaneity! Isnt that just delightful? No, Universe, it’s not. It’s… infuriating.
Meanwhile, people are working tirelessly, sacrificing and striving for something tangible, and this guy gets handed a chunk of change because he felt like stopping at a convenience store? Don’t even get me started on the inevitable interview where hell say things like, I just never expected it! Of course you didnt! Why would you? The world is clearly designed to reward accidental existence. Fantastic. Just fantastic. I need another cup of coffee and a very long sigh.
