The Peak of Human Ingenuity: A Feather Duster and a Chick
Honestly, where do people find the time? Between solving world hunger and achieving interstellar travel, apparently someone felt it was vital to document a baby chick’s relationship with a feather duster. Because clearly, thats what our society desperately needed.
I mean, really? A feather duster? Is this supposed to be heartwarming? Its just… pathetic. The poor little creature, abandoned and vulnerable, now clings to a mass of synthetic fluff as if it’s its mother. I can practically hear the violins swelling, dripping with manufactured sentimentality.
We’ve reached peak absurdity. Forget addressing genuine suffering; let’s celebrate the fact that a chick found comfort in something designed to remove dust bunnies! Its almost insulting to actual grieving parents, to children who need real care and attention. This feathered substitute is plastered all over the internet, lauded as some kind of triumph of human compassion.
I suppose its easy to feel good about yourself when you’re photographing a bird cuddling with cleaning supplies. Much less complicated than, say, volunteering at a shelter or tackling a complex social issue. It’s performative caring at its finest. Please, somebody just give me strength. And maybe a very large dose of cynicism.
