And yet, here we are, finally getting Volume 1 of Season 5 – the one everyones been weeping over since Season 4 ended in 2022 – only to be greeted by… an outage?
Let me tell you, the collective groan that went out across the internet around 8 p.m. CT on November 26th could have powered a small city. DownDetector reported a spike so dramatic it looked like a graph designed by Vecna himself; were talking over 13,000 reports! Thirteen thousand people trying to watch teenagers fight demogorgons in the 80s and being met with error messages? The audacity!
The problem wasn’t just video streaming – though that accounted for a whopping 55% of complaints. Thirty-six percent were wrestling with server connections, while 8% couldnt even log in! Imagine the sheer frustration! People were resorting to desperate measures – refreshing the app like their lives depended on it (“I lowkey just kept refreshing until it let me in,” one brave soul reported). Seriously? We’re reduced to digital begging?!
And the social media outrage? Beautiful. Netflix fix your app bro, someone wrote, which is about as eloquently furious as you can get when your carefully curated evening of nostalgia is being ripped away from you. Another person practically implored, “LET ME IN NOW!!!!”

Honestly, after three years of waiting, Im convinced the demogorgons are less terrifying than Netflix’s infrastructure. And you know what? It might be better if we all just accepted that our attempts to relive the 80s will always be thwarted by buffering wheels and error codes.
