A deer, possibly hopped up on sugar, “Kool-Aid Manned” into a Texas home and decided to stay awhile. According to the homeowners, the deer drank all the Kool-Aid (hence the reference) and then made himself comfortable in the living room.
The homeowners, who wish to remain anonymous because they don’t want their neighbors to think they’re crazy, said they heard a loud crash in the middle of the night. Upon investigation, they discovered the deer had broken through their glass door, probably mistaking it for a giant Kool-Aid jug. After they regained their composure from the shock of having a live deer in their home, they started to try to shoo the animal out. However, the deer seemed unbothered by their presence and continued to lounge in the living room.
The homeowners debated on what to do before finally deciding to let the deer stay the night. They even provided him with a bowl of water and some fruit snacks (which the deer politely declined). The couple said that they didn’t get much sleep that night because the deer kept trying to get on the couch with them, but they didn’t want to hurt his feelings by shooing him away.
The next morning, the deer finally decided to leave and nonchalantly hopped out the now-fixed glass door, leaving the homeowners in awe. They said they would always cherish the memory of their night with the Kool-Aid deer and would never forget his bold entrance into their home.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said they haven’t heard of a deer “Kool-Aid Manned” into someone’s home before, but they did warn homeowners to always keep their doors and windows locked to prevent any unwanted wildlife from entering. They also advised against leaving sugary drinks out as it may attract animals looking for a quick sugar rush.
Despite the warning, the couple said they plan on stocking up on Kool-Aid just in case the deer decides to come back for a visit. “He’s always welcome in our home,” they said.
Meanwhile, Kool-Aid’s parent company, Kraft Heinz, was thrilled to hear about the deer’s apparent affinity for their drink. They released a statement saying, “We’re thrilled to hear that our Kool-Aid provided a refreshing experience for this deer. We always knew our product was irresistible to both humans and animals alike, but this truly confirms it. We will be sending the homeowners a case of Kool-Aid to show our appreciation for showcasing its universal appeal.”
The incident has caused quite a stir in the local community, with some calling the deer a hero and others warning about the dangers of leaving sugary drinks out in the open. Either way, it’s safe to say that this deer will go down in history as one of the boldest animal intruders in Texas.
